Get away and relax in your comfortable 140 sq.ft. room cabin at our amazing Bird Sanctuary in the heart of Ramsey Canyon. The Owls Nest comes equipped with a microwave, minifridge, electric fireplace for heat and an A/C unit to keep you cool in the summer. This cabin DOES NOT have indoor plumbing or a shower. The very clean shared portable restroom and sink area with potable water are right outside the door. The room rate of $149 includes linens, pillows, hand towels, face clothes, fresh baked cookies, snacks, drip coffee maker and ground coffee. Add a rental propane fire pit at check out and enjoy those chilly mornings/nights while relaxing on your private patio.
Staying on site gives you unlimited access to our 3 Bird Gardens and property trails since the birds rise early and the night wildlife abounds.
Cellular service usually provides 1 - 2 bars of signal.
Owls Nest Guests have access to our 3 Bird Gardens with 100+ feeders, and over a mile of nature trails with their nightly rental. The Ramsey Canyon Preserve is only 1/4 mile up the road and has access to trails within the Coronado National Forest, and is closed on Tuesdays/Wednesdays. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have during your stay and offer guided tours for $40 per person for a 1 hour tour to better acquaint you with the flora and fauna of Ramsey Canyon.

Ramsey Canyon is world renowned for birding, and great for hiking and biking year round, with more hummingbirds than you can imagine in late July thru mid September! Even though it's a popular location for visitors, the wildlife is plentiful and very relaxed and our visitors and guests often tell us they see more wildlife and birds on our property than at the Ramsey Canyon Preserve. You will find deer and turkey walking the 9 acre property everyday.
Please Note* This unit HAS NO INDOOR PLUMBING. The unit has access to a very clean shared outdoor portable restroom and potable running water, RIGHT outside the unit, NO SHOWER. 1-3 night stays available. Due to the documented extreme allergies of the owner/cleaners and the sensitive nature of the environment and wildlife, No Animals of any kind or children under the age of 13 are allowed. There is NO cooking or campfires allowed outside the unit and NO portable cookstoves or cooking inside the unit. There is a small microwave and mini fridge. 3 Night Rental Maximum. Please Note* This unit does not have indoor plumbing. The water from the wash area has a quadruple stage filter and is potable. Room rate is for double occupancy. ANY and ALL Day Guests must be pre approved and are $10 per person, no exceptions. Do to the sensitive nature of the environment we do not allow children under 13, animals of any kind and NO fires are allowed anywhere on the property. Great bird viewing
I enjoyed the main viewing area as well as the well thought out trails and seating positions. I saw several coues deer up close. Will go again on my next trip to the area.

Peace and Quiet
It was a nice outting for my significant other who needs lots of peace and quiet. I wish I could have stayed longer! We stayed in the Owl's nest which was a cozy place for two to enjoy a peaceful night and fun to wake up with deer and turkey at the front door. The skies were a bit cloudy but I will be back with my telescope next time.
Owls Nest
Stayed in the Owl's Nest cabin. A combination of modern comfort and rustic. Welcoming hosts. Beautiful location in a thick mostly oak forest with easy to follow trails and bird watching locations. A flock of wild turkey were out front of the Owl's nest every morning and evening. And, even with the almost-full moon, the starlit sky was beautiful. Would definitely go again!
Absolutely Charming
Absolutely charming! I stayed in the cozy owl's nest studio and feel completely regenerated. Jen and Greg took great care of me. Don't forget to do the property tour will Jen. A true hidden gem!
Owls Nest
I rented the Owl's Nest and it was as described -- a cozy room with a comfortable bed. The cabins are in a really tranquil spot. The trails were nice to walk in the morning. Ramsey Canyon Preserve is a short (maybe 10 minute) walk, with orioles singing along the road up to the preserve. The owners were extremely helpful and gave helpful advice for other places in the area to go bird watching.

Amazing Place
This place is quaint and peaceful. If you are coming from a city, your restlessness will melt away as you step into nature - hummingbird feeders and trails run throughout the property - Staying here is a no brainer. Can’t wait to come back. Thanks Jen and Greg!
