We rented both the Hummingbird cabin and Owl’s nest for a family get-together. The stay was fantastic - plenty of birds, a great set of trails for outdoor enjoyment, comfortable cabins with plenty of room and a well equipped kitchen. Looking forward to a return trip soon.
Can't say enough about how great this place is. This is our second stay and it is awesome to see how different it can be. The new king beds are so comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need. But the best part is the property. There are so many feeders and bird gardens throughout the property attracting so many birds and wildlife. We had a great time and can't wait to return! Thank You for all you do!!!
Bird watching right out your door!Ramsey Canyon Cabins and Bird Sanctuary is a wonderful place. We stayed at the Hummingbird Cabin and observed many birds at the feeders right outside our door and more in the adjacent Bird Garden. Trails through 8 acres provide many more opportunities to see birds at feeders scattered throughout, along with comfortable spots to sit and watch. The cabin is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Bird guides and even games for bird lovers are provided. It is very quiet.Jen is a pleasant host, knowledgeable about birds. We loved it here!
Clean cabins, extremely peaceful and great location. Also a lot of wildlife. Will be back. Thank you!
Beautiful location. The bird watching right outside the front door was magical. We saw a many turkeys, dozens of hummingbirds, deer, woodpeckers and other birds (mostly there for the hummies). Almost better than Ramsey Canyon itself and that is saying a lot. The cabin was in perfect condition. The hosts were very nice, responsive and super helpful. Top notch!
This was THE perfect place for my friend and I to spend 5 nights as a "base camp" for our birding adventures in southeastern AZ! The cabin was super clean and comfortable, beds were comfy, and the kitchen had everything we needed for meal prep. It was so wonderful to sit on the porch and watch 5 species of hummingbirds come the feeders within arm's length! The other birds visiting the established feeding stations and the natural habitat of the cabin grounds were outstanding! The trails around the cabins, especially along the creek, with the old sycamores, were so pleasant and peaceful to stroll. Each night, we were serenaded by a Whiskered Screech Owl and several Elf Owls, not to mention the distant Common Poorwill! The owners, Jen and her husband, were so pleasant to visit with and they were incredibly accommodating. The other birding hotspots in and around the Hauchuca Mts. were quick and easy to get to from here, including Ramsey Canyon, Ash Canyon, Miller Canyon, San Pedro River, etc. Thank you for such a wonderful stay and experience! I look forward to staying here again in the future!Rooms: Living room was comfortable with plenty of seating and a nice coffee table. Bedrooms were small but adequate and the beds were totally comfortable. Showers were small and a tight fit for a guy my size, but workable. Kitchen was large, with lots of counter space. We loved the kitchen table with the big clean window looking over the deck with all the bird feeders!Nearby activities: This is so close to many other birding hotspots near the Huachuca Mountains, such as Ramsey Canyon, Ash Canyon bird Sanctuary, Beatty's Guest Ranch at the end of Miller Canyon Rd., Carr Canyon, Brown Canyon, and the San Pedro River Riparian Conservation Area. Grocery stores and restaurants are close by in Sierra Vista.Safety: We felt totally safe here. It's remote and the only other folks in the area are all like-minded birders and nature enthusiasts. Although we locked our vehicle, as well as the cabin door when we left each day, that was more from "force of habit" rather than necessity.Walkability: Easy walking along the well maintained trails. The owners even provided a map of the trail system on fridge in the kitchen, so you can take a photo on your phone and refer to it while you're walking.Noteworthy details: The natural surroundings were fantastic! We had deer, Wild Turkeys, striped skunk, and Arizona gray squirrels visiting each day. The trails along the stream were beautiful and peaceful. The birdlife around the cabin was spectacular!
This is our second stay in the Hummingbird cabin. We loved it both times, both in January and July. Deer and wild turkeys frequent the front yard and the birdwatching is amazing. The cabin is comfortable, clean, and cozy. It is said that in real estate it is location, location, location. This cabin is in an amazing location for relaxing and enjoying nature from the kitchen table. Hike the trails on the property or go a short distance and hike from the Nature Conservancy. Highly recommend!
Thank you again for staying with us! We are so glad you guys are able to relax and enjoy your time here. We look forward to seeing you again in the future!
The Ramsey Canyon Cabin owners are amazing-friendly, helpful, exceptional hosts, and skilled birders. The Hummingbird Cabin fit the three of us perfectly-outstanding birding right from our cabin kitchen table and porch as well as comfortable and well appointed rooms. There were great amenities and ad ons to satiate all our needs as bird nerds, hikers, naturalists, and outdoors women. We savored the trails, wildlife, and time with the owners daily. Our cabin was close to many birding, hiking, and outdoor hot spots. Also close to Sierra Vista for restaurants and other services. I will be sending all my friends to this lovely and comfortable place.
Thank you so much Nancy for such a great review. We are thrilled you enjoyed your experience here and look forward to seeing you all again next year. All the best!
Comfortable, cozy cabin located in a beautiful natural setting. Many different birds, deer, and wild turkeys just outside the front door. We even had a gray fix visit one night and had a brief sighting of a coatimundi. Jen and Greg are working hard to develop this property into an attractive and desirable destination, and they happily shared interesting information about the area and gave us some great tips for wildlife viewing. It’s within walking distance of the Ramsey Canyon preserve, and only a short distance from other beautiful natural sites in the area. Great hiking and birding, and wonderful hosts!
Thank you very much for staying with us! We are glad we were able to provide a great experience for everyone. See you again in the future.
This place was so tranquil, my daughter and I enjoyed the wildlife and all the many different birds! We enjoyed the walks through forest and the stream with waterfalls. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. So many sitting areas to enjoy the scenery. We loved it. We would come back for sure! The owners were very polite and gave us so many interesting facts. We saw 2 two day old fawns. Thank you Jen!
